The 33 Greatest Science Fiction Series
Speculative fiction lends itself well to serialization. Once an author has gone to the tremendous effort of creating a world with distinctive characters and provocative themes—and once readers have been drawn into sharing that world—it's natural to want to explore that world further with subsequent works.
This list highlights the science fiction series that have most gripped the public imagination, based on the same voluminous research that produced The Greatest Literature of All Time and all our other lists.
For the purposes of this list, a series is defined as comprising at least three novels or novellas, although it may additionally include stories, poems or other literary works.
