The 22 Greatest Works of Israeli Literature
For this list, Israeli literature is defined as the works of authors residing in the modern state of Israel or its immediate predecessors. It does not include writing in Hebrew by authors living elsewhere.
The list covers the greatest Israeli literature of all times, cultures and genres. It focuses on major fictional works, including novels, novellas, novel series, plays, epic poetry and collections.
The selection is based on the continuing research carried out for The Greatest Literature of All Time and further research into Israeli literature acclaimed by readers, writers, critics and scholars.
